Curatorial Assistant
Open Space is looking for two energetic Curatorial Assistants who are planning careers in curatorial or museum work.
The Curatorial Assistants will participate in all aspects of a media arts residency and two installations as well as participating in program design, promotion and marketing, research, data management, clerical, publishing and installation. The position requires excellent photography and computer skills, strong writing and communication skills. We are looking for someone who can meet organizational deadlines, and who thrives on independent work. A valid BC Driver’s License is essential. Our ideal candidate is a senior visual arts student who will be returning to classes in the fall 2012. This position is best suited to students in the visual arts. Applicants must be registered with Young Canada Works.
Open Space demands a flexible schedule. Workweek: Tuesday through Saturday with occasional evening and weekend work.

Media Archive Assistant
Open Space is looking for a self-directed Media Archive Assistant to create a media arts finding aide during a 16-week summer term. The student will be familiar with a Macintosh working environment, with a working familiarity with the relational database software FileMaker Pro, a functional knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), graphic design software (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and web related applications (Dreamweaver, Content Management Systems such as Drupal, and social networking software).
